Thamel Rickshaw Ride and Shopping Tour

While you rickshaw through small streets, there are lined up souvenir shops dealing in pashminas, jewelry, trekking gear, local paintings, and handicrafts. Your guide will help you with where to shop best and suggest what to buy based on your interest.

Head to Asan Bazaar, one of the oldest market squares in Kathmandu. The historic market square has been a trading hub for centuries and where locals buy and sell spices, vegetables, cloth, and religious items. It’s a great place to experience Nepal’s real market culture.

After exploring the market, take a short break in a local tea house or at a street food stall. Try such common snacks as momos (dumplings), sel roti (donuts made of rice), or lassi (sweet yogurt beverage) while soaking up the street life.

If time permits, you can ride to Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Although the main square charges an entrance fee, you can still catch a glimpse of the exquisite architecture and ancient courtyards from the surrounding streets.

Your rickshaw driver will then take you back to Thamel, where the tour ends. You’ll be dropped off at the same starting point, with plenty of shopping bags and great memories of Kathmandu’s colorful culture!
